Detailed Itinerary of 14 Days Tanzania Safari & Zanzibar beach holiday

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel

On arrival in Arusha, Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide (representative of Petnah Africa Tours & Travel). After briefing you about the safari and what to expect, you will be transferred to the hotel in Arusha. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: City Tour in Arusha town

After breakfast, you will head to Arusha City for a city tour on foot visiting several sites including the National History Museum, Monuments, local markets and craft shops.

This tour will give you a chance to interact with the locals and get a taste of the local food. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Visit Arusha National Park

 After breakfast at your hotel you will transfer to Arusha national park for a game viewing and exploring the park on game drive and a walking safari, from Arusha town center it is a drive of about 1 hr 30min to the park.

When you arrive in the park you will go for a game drive, while driving through tracks running through the park you will be able to watch several animals such as buffalo, waterbuck, giraffe, zebra, warthog, and gazelle, leopard and elephant among others through the comfort of your 4×4 wheel vehicle.

You will have lunch at the lodge after checking in and in the afternoon you will head back to the park for a walking safari conducted alongside a park ranger. As you through the rain forest heading to the sparkling waterfall, you will spot the colobus monkeys and many birds living in the forest. And at the waterfall, you will be treated to nature sounds as the waters of the fall hit the rocks. In the evening you will return to the lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast at your lodge, you will transfer to Lake Manyara national park another rewarding Tanzania safari destination popular for the tree climbing lions and other wildlife species.

On arrival at the park, you will check into your lodge, have lunch then later in afternoon proceed to the park for an afternoon game drive searching for animals residing in the park. you will enjoy watching some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa, tree climbing lions, giraffes, elands and flacks of flamingos at Lake Manyara an alkaline lake found in the park. after the game drive, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: transfer to Serengeti National Park

Have early breakfast, checkout of your lodge and transfer to Serengeti national park driving through the beautiful high lying farmlands of Karatu and Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Arrive in the park in time for lunch at your lodge after checking in, in the afternoon you will head to the Seronera area for a game viewing experience spotting array of wildlife including lions, leopards and cheetahs lying on kopjes, wildebeests, giraffes, elands, gazelles among others. After the sunset, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full day experience at Serengeti National Park

After early breakfast, you will head to the park for a full day game drive in the plains of Serengeti along the Sogore river circuit which runs south of the Seronera River. Since this area has abundance of water, it attracts abundance of wildlife such as lions, elephants, cape buffaloes, cheetahs, hartebeests, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, rhinos among others which you will enjoy watching.

After the morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will return for another game drive exploring the park more and seeing more animals you did not have a chance to see during the morning game drive. After the game drive, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Have early breakfast and transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a stopover at the famous Olduvai Gorge – a famous historical and archeological site boasting history dating back to the start of humanity, Olduvai Gorge is a place where Anthropologists Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the skulls of the early man.

Arrive at Ngorongoro Conservation Area in time for lunch at your lodge, in the afternoon you will descend to the crater floor for a game viewing experience. The crater floor boasts spectacular wildlife viewing sightings, some of the animals to lookout for from the comfort of your 4×4 wheel vehicle include lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, cape buffaloes among others. You also visit Lake Magadi – an alkaline lake in the south western corner of the crater, at this lake you will enjoy views of thousands of pink flamingoes.

Later you will proceed to back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 8: morning game drive and transfer to Tarangire National Park.

After breakfast, you will head to Ngorongoro for a game drive with your packed lunch, you will have a game drive in the area around the crater rim watching more animals. At lunch, you will have picnic lunch, exit and transfer to Tarangire national park.

On arrival to the park, you will be welcomed by the gigantic Baobab trees and the spectacular landscape. You will continue through the park on a short en-route game drive as you head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Full day at Tarangire National Park

Have early breakfast and transfer to the park for a full day game drive with packed lunch, during the game drive expect to spot animals such as greater kudus, fringe – eared oryx, Ashy starling, lions, leopards elephants and monkeys most especially along the banks of Tarangire river as they play in the mad looking for water streams.

You will have lunch under the shade of the Baobab tree, during lunch be mindful of the monkeys that will roam around attracted by food. After experience the sunset, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer by flight to Zanzibar

After a leisurely breakfast, you will ext the park and transfer to back to Arusha for your flight to Zanzibar at Arusha Airport. Upon landing at Zanzibar Airport, you will be picked up by your guide and transfer to your resort where you will spend an evening of relaxing while enjoying the breeze of the Indian Ocean and the beautiful crystal white – sand beaches.

Day 11 – 13: Spend three whole days enjoying adventure activities at Zanzibar Island

From Day 11 – Day 13 of this holiday, you will be enjoying the beauty and several activities in Zanzibar Island and the beaches, during these 3 days you can enjoy quality time relaxing at the beach resort or participate in optional activities such as exploring the Old Stone Town, Visiting the Spice Farm or Jozani Forest where you will spot the colobus monkeys.

Other activities you can do include snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing or canoeing.

Day 14: Departure flight

After a leisure breakfast, you will checkout of the hotel and be transferred to the airport for your departure depending on your flight schedule.
