3 Days Kidepo Valley Safari
TOUR SUMMARY
Kidepo is one of Uganda’s most spectacular parks covering 1,442 sq km lying in the rugged, semi-arid valleys of Karamoja province bordering southern Sudan. Kidepo valley national park is Uganda’s most remote national park and finest wilderness which provides refuge to a long list of 475 dry country species like ostrich, African swallows. tailed kite, stoe partridge not found elsewhere in the country including cheetah and greater kudu while its perennial water attract large numbers of elephant, thiua and strong buffalo herd specially during the dry season with roam. Rolling grasslands that extend in all directions towards distant mountain ranges.
Elevation: 914m on kidepo valley floor to 2749m atop mount Morungole.
Status : National Park since 1954
Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park(transfer time 8 hours).
Day 2: Morning game drive and cultural encounters in the evening.
Day 3: Morning game drive and back to Kampala(transfer time 8 hours)

Transport to and from the park
Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park(transfer time 8 hours)
After breakfast, our driver guide will transfer you to Kidepo Valley National Park, northeastern Uganda through Kitgum.Vegetation : Semi-desert scrub, open thorn-scrub, open thorn-bush, long and short-grass Open tree savannas, riparian woodland including borassus and kigelia woodland, thick “miombo-like” woodland, montane forest and granite out- crop.
Accommodation: Apoka safari lodge ( luxury), Kidepo savannah lodge ( Midrange) , Apoka Bandas ( budget).
Meals : Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 2: Morning game drive and cultural encounters in the evening
After an early morning breakfast embark on an exciting game drive. Look out for the wonderful savanna wildlife species that make this park one of the spectacular safari destinations in Uganda. While on game drive, you will spot wildlife species like dik-dik, klipspringer, greater and lesser kudus, aardwolf, striped hyenas, reed buck, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, elephants, side striped jackals and variety of bird species.
In the afternoon, visit the Karimojong Villages for a cultural tour to see how this tribe rejects many modern trends. Their ways are unique to them and they are a proud pastoral nomadic tribe who herd cattle. You will see how they live, prepare food, dance, enjoy life and learn what their cattle mean to them. Enjoy the traditional dance performed by your hosts and photography at the magnificent Manyattas.

Day 3: Morning game drive and back to Kampala(transfer time 8 hours)
After your breakfast, embark on another game drive in the park to explore more game and those that you might have missed the previous day as you gain more opportunities for photo shooting. You will then set off for Kampala for at the end of your three day safari in Kidepo Valley National Park.
