Detailed itinerary of 5 days Amboseli and Tsavo East safari from Diani Beach

 Day 1: Diani Beach to Tsavo West

As early as 06:00 am, you will begin your safari with early departure from your beach hotel in Mombasa after your breakfast. You will embark on a journey to Tsavo West with en-route stops for some refreshments and enjoying the magnificent views of the country side.

When you arrive in Tsavo West national park, you will be welcomed by the spectacular views of the rolling plains, rocky peaks, volcanic forms and varied wildlife in the park.  Head to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will return to the park for an afternoon game drive visiting the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary which is a home to the endangered but gentle rhinos. As you drive on the game driving tracks running through the savannah plains you will be able to see many animals such as leopards, wild dogs, Buffalo, rhinos, lions, crocodiles, mongoose, hyrax, lesser kudus among others. At 06:00 pm, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tsavo West  

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park for a morning game drive. Morning hours are the best time to see many animals before the scatter off, some of the animals you should lookout for include wild dogs, cape buffaloes, elephants, leopards, mongoose among others.

You will return to your lodge for lunch and a few hours of relaxation, in the afternoon you will return to the park for a game drive exploring the plains Tsavo West more. You will also visit the Mzima Springs where you will see exotic fish, hippos and crocodiles.

Day 3: Tsavo West – Amboseli

Wake up early for breakfast, checkout of the lodge and transfer to Amboseli national park, along the way you enjoy and appreciate an African sunrise (that is if you wake up early).

You will arrive in Amboseli national park in time for lunch which you have after checking in, as you enter the park you will be welcomed by the magnificent backdrop of the snow – capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, in the afternoon you will head to the park for a game drive. Because Amboseli national park is dominated by sparse vegetation you will be able to see a variety of wildlife such as large herds of elephants, giraffes, elands, warthogs, wildebeests, lions, leopards among others. You will also amazing photos of the magnificent summit and large herds of elephants. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Full-Day at Amboseli

If you missed the views of the snowy summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, you might see it this morning, wake up for breakfast and transfer to the park for a full day game drive with your packed lunch.

This day will offer you a chance to immerse yourself in the nature wonders of the park, during the game drive look out for lions, leopards, giraffes, impalas, zebras, herds of elephants among others.

 You will have lunch at one of the picnic site of the park and in the afternoon you will either go for another game drive or visit the Maasai Village, meet the Maasai People and learn about their lives and cultures and purchase some of their brightly beaded handwork.

In the evening you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Amboseli – Diani Beach

 This is the final day of the safari, after breakfast you will checkout of the lodge and embark on a journey back to Diani Beach with en-route game drive in Amboseli, along the way you will have en-route lunch and when you arrive Diani, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
