The Dubai fountain : The Dubai Fountain is the world’s tallest performing fountain standing at over 900 ft in length, this captivating water, music and light spectacle is found in the Downtown Dubai and situated on the 30 – acre Burj Lake at the center of the Downtown Dubai Development in Dubai United Arab Emirates.
The Dubai Fountain was designed by WET Design, a California based company which is also responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas, the fountain is illuminated by 6,600 lights and 50 colored projectors, it is at 275 meters (902 ft) long and shoots water up to 500 ft (152.4 m) into the air accompanied by a ranger of classic contemporary Arabic and world music.
Construction of The Dubai Fountain costed AED 800 million (USD $218 million).
The Dubai Fountain was developed by Emaar and was inaugurated in 2009 along with the Dubai Mall.
This beautiful fountain performs to a selection of different melodies/ songs from classical to Arabic and international Music. Performances take place on a daily basis and lasts for up to five minutes. Peter Kopik – the head of the Choreography in WET Design is responsible of selecting music to be used in the fountain.
PERFORMANCES AT DUBAI FOUNTAIN
The fountain is animated with performances set to light and music, it is visible from every point on the lake promenade and from many neighboring structures. The performances take place at 1:00 pm and at 1:30 pm as well as every 30 minutes from 6 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and from 6 pm to 11 pm on weekends that is Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
On 20th October 2011, DHL Express premiered an advertising campaign at The Dubai Fountain. The campaign was choreographed to a specially reworked version of the Motown classic “Aint No Mountain High Enough” and was repeated for about a month.
All the fountain’s performances are accompanied by music played through speakers around the lake, sometimes the fountains are operated without music for testing purposes.

Daytime: 01:00 PM and 01:30 PM
Evenings: 06:00 PM to 11:00 PM (in 30-minute intervals)

The Dubai Fountain Lake Ride
The Dubai Fountain Lake Ride is the best way to get a close look at the dancing fountain in Dubai and is done on a boat ride on the Burj Khalifa Lake on a traditional Abra. You will sail across the lake and view the magical musical performance from an excellent vantage point.

Getting There
The Dubai Fountain is located next to the Dubai Mall, at Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Blvd- Downtown Dubai – Dubai – United Arab Emirates. To get there, you can simply walk through the Lower Ground floor of the Dubai Mall.
