When to visit Uganda

Uganda can be visited at anytime through the year but the forest walks, mountain hikes, gorilla walks are more challenging during the rainy seasons (March till May and then October till December ). Rainy season means that it rains more often but not every day and not the whole day. For birders, this is considered to be your best season
You can get to Uganda using air transport, road transport or water transport. Air transport however is the most commonly used means since it is faster and more convenient.
On arrival
On arrival at the airport our guide will be there waiting for you. During the safari we use safari vehicles and they provide some limited space for the luggage. It is therefore recommended to travel with light bags since bulky suitcases may be heavy to take on board
Visiting visa
When visiting Uganda, one needs to have a visa. This can be got online visa using the link https://visas.immigration.go.ug/
Please make sure you have a copy of recent passport size photograph, copy of your passport, vaccination certificate for yellow fever
Fill the form normally (when you need an ordinary visa, single entry)
When you send the form you will immediately receive a tracking code. This code will help you know how far your visa has progressed until the Ugandan authorities send you a letter in the email after approving your application
Print the letter and come with it so that you can be able to purchase the entry visa

Language
The official language used while in Uganda is English though there are also about 20plus different indigenous languages spoken by the natives of this country.
What to wear in Uganda
Day time temperatures are generally warm to hot so you can carry lots of light clothes and the evenings are cooler especially at high altitudes especially the areas of the western Uganda so carry sweaters too.
Those who intend to do a community walk or visit the local people, we advise you to wear descent clothes
During the safaris we advise you to avoid black and dark blue clothes because they attract tsetse flies
For those planning to do mountain climbing or hiking, we will be exposed to alpine temperatures and should park accordingly not forgetting sun glasses, sunscreen, waterproof jacket, and a hat.
Means of transport
The most used means of transport is road transport. One can get around using bikes commonly known as boda boda(motor bike), or use taxis or hire out a car. Air transport is not often used since it is very costly whereas water transport is used in certain parts of the country.
