Culinary Tourism in Uganda: Culinary tourism is also known as food tourism which is memorable and unique experience and also a manifestation of cuisines of different cultures. The Ugandan dishes that are offered to visitors they are very exceptional and undeniably yummy and most dishes are served in their traditional dishes where these enticing foods are got from the garden of fertile enriched soils of Uganda
Uganda is very magical where it’s blessed with wild life, fertile soils, and physical features, among others. Famous for the healthy nutrient potential that it holds in it so great for the traveler’s energy levels keeping the travelers ready for an epic lively journey through Uganda
Uganda provides great food when in the eastern part of Uganda, you get to enjoy the Malewa dish which is a dish made up of smoked fish which is smoked on fire for like three days and then soaked in water until the top layer peels off and then they are boiled off for like 30 minutes then they pick the soft parts of the fish are rinsed in after and they also put rock salt in water till it dissolves and then poured over the cut-up shoots then heat it for about thirty minutes and groundnut sauce is added when its ready its served normally with plantain known as Matooke by the local people
Still in the east in the land of the Bateso you get to enjoy cassava bread known as Kalo which is mingled cassava flour in water till it gets hard and ready for eating. They also cook mushrooms known as ebale which are cooked differently for example some are pasted after sun drying with some ingredients while others are cooked with greens without any ingredients
For the case of central Uganda, you get to taste the delicious luwombo which is the famous Baganda dish made for guests and it tastes very amazing. They cook different foods like chicken, ground nuts, mushrooms which are prepared wrapped in banana leaves. They also make local brew as a beverage which is made from a given type of banana species locally known as amabidde. These bananas are grown specifically for brewing. Amabidde (Bananas) are grown and not mixed with other types of bananas.
The west part of Uganda has a lot of food stuffs where they are rich in cattle where they milk their cattle they make their own ghee; they are farmers who own big plantations. They make dishes like ghee sauce known as eshabwe and they cook plantain known as matooke and also mingled millet known as Karo where sometimes the ghee sauce is mixed with roasted meat. Ghee sauce is normally made out of ghee added with water mixed with rock salt which is mingled till it turns white in color and it’s normally thick. Since they rear cattle and goats you can also enjoy meat.
The northern region prepares mostly vegetable dishes which are delicious where they make dough made from maize, millet or sorghum which is known as the Kwon. They also make Amukeke which is dried sweet potato dough served with egg plants cooked with okra and dried fish. The northern dishes are normally vegetable dishes which are true and rich
