Bursary Offering

  • Education is a very important aspect towards the social and economic development of the Rushaga local community living around the Misty jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
  • Bursary initiative was introduced by Petnah Community Initiative as an answer to high level of illiteracy in the Rushaga community. Most of the head of the families in the local community of Rushaga are very willing to send their children to school, however they cannot afford to finance sending to school and acquire the necessary education.
  • Also, the local community is filled with many smart students who will be great leaders and contributors to the economic and social development of the Rushaga and Uganda as a nation at large if provided with a chance to further their education.
  • As Petnah Community Initiative, we believe education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty within the community as a whole, with high dropout rates and a lack of quality standards within schools in Uganda including the Rushaga Sector. Petnah Community Initiative aims at support the local community in Rushaga Sector to get quality education and offering bursaries is one of the ways.
