Your safari starts in Nairobi City – the capital city of Kenya, flying to Masai Mara National Reserve where you will enjoy exclusive and excellent sightings of wildlife. You will spend three full days exploring the golden savannahs, looking for the Big Five and other incredible wildlife species calling Masai Mara home.
Then, you will fly to the beautiful Lamu Island known for its rich Swahili Culture, the historic Lamu Old Town – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and unique carefree environment. The island lies just off Kenya’s far north coast and is made up of a string of beautiful Indian Ocean Islands that tis Lamu, Manda, Pante, Kiwayu and Manda Toto, collectively known a Lamu Archipelago. Here you will relax on the white sandy beaches, swim in the turquoise waters and enjoy the warm hospitality Kenya is renowned for. There are a number water based activities to do including snorkeling, dishing or sailing in traditional dhows.

Detailed Itinerary 9 Days Beach and Bush Luxury Kenya Safari
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
When you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi City, you will be met by our representative and driven to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara National Reserve. The flight takes about 45 minutes over the scenic Great Rift Valley – visible from the outer space. On arrival in the Masai Mara, you will be warmly welcomed by your Driver-Guide and drive to your camp – Governor’s IL Moran with a short game drive, check –in, enjoy an al fresco and have a short time relaxation. Later, head out on a thrilling late – afternoon game drive in Masai Mara and return at dusk for drinks and chatter around the campfire with fellow visitors, before your dinner. Fall asleep to the melodic sounds of Masai Mara.
About Governor’s IL Moran Camp

Day 2, 3 & 4: Masai Mara National Reserve
A rise early each day to make the most of your safari in Masai Mara. You will have the options of up to three game drives within the Masai Mara National Reserve, immersing yourself in this rich wildlife destination.
Depending on your preferences, we have a range of activities to keep you occupied either side of game viewing. A magical hot-air balloon safari over the Masai Mara if one of our recommended experiences if you are looking for an unforgettable adventure.
Hot –air balloon safari in Masai Mara – Experience the beauty of the Mara from the above. As the sun begins to rise, you drift gently into the sky, carried by wind and silence. Below the Masai Mara stretches wide, rivers glint in the dawn, treetops catch your shadow, and the world begins to stir. The path you take is shaped by the breeze. One moment you are skimming just above the canopies, watching giraffes reach for leaves. The next you are high enough to see the full sweep of the savannah, with soft hills, meandering streams and the steady rhythm of life unfolding. In the hush between bursts from the burners, only the natural world speaks, the low call of a lion, the ripple of grazing herds and the sudden leap of a gazelle making the whole experience a memorable one. After you land, a champagne breakfast is served in the bush.
A hot air balloon safari in Masai Mara typically last around one hour, but the memories are very lasting. Please note that a balloon safari is an extra cost.

Day 5: Manda Island, Lamu
Take a flight from the iconic Masai Mara over to the beautiful Manda Bay on Kenya’s exotic, palm, fringed coastline.
Located on the northern tip of Manda Island in the Lamu Archipelago on the Kenya Coast, Manda Bay is a small, privately owned boutique hotel offering a barefoot beach escape where the Indian Ocean meets the coastal wilderness. With its blend of tropical charm and secluded serenity, the lodge is ideal for those seeking privacy, simplicity, and natural beauty in equal measure. Here, you can switch off from the rest of the world and enjoy simplistic beauty in thatched cottages and open living spaces. The only access to Manda Bay is by speedboat, so guests can enjoy this private island all to themselves.
Day 6-8: Manda Island, Lamu
Manda Bat is a perfect escape for honeymooners, families and couples looking for the ultimate “no shoes – no news” experience. It is renowned for its wonderfully relaxed atmosphere and variety of activities on offer, including fishing, water-sports, snorkeling, bird watching, nature drives, sailing on dhows and visits to Lamu.
End each day with a spectacular signature sundowner experience that is unmatched elsewhere.
Day 9: Manda Bay to Nairobi
After a wonderful relaxing retreat at Manda Bay, it is time to return to reality and you will be transferred to Lamu Airport for a flight back to Nairobi. Once you have landed back in Nairobi, you may wish to explore the city a little before your international flight home – please discus with your Petnah Africa Travel Designer for the available options.
