DETAILED ITINERARY OF 8 DAYS SERENGETI WILDEBEEST CALVING SEASON SAFARI

Day 1: Drive to Tarangire national park

After morning breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver – guide and after a short briefing on what to expect on the safari, you will depart for Tarangire national park  and have an evening game drive.

You will arrive in the park in time for lunch which you will enjoy after checking and in the evening go for a game drive, Tarangire national park is a home to large herds of elephants which you will spot roaming in the plains of the park and around Tarangire River. You will also spot other animals such as lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, spotted hyenas, leopards among others. The landscape of Tarangire national park is dotted with the iconic Baobab trees which will give you a true feeling of an African safari. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Drive to Serengeti national park

After morning breakfast, you will depart for Serengeti national park with your packed lunch, when you arrive in the park you will head to the Southern Serengeti – Ndutu plains where you will witness wildebeest give birth to over 700 calves daily in the presence of the predators in the Ndutu plains. You will have en-route game drive as you head to your lodge.

Day 3 – 4: Full day game drive in Southern Serengeti NP

After morning game drive, you will head the Southern plains – Ndutu Area with your packed lunch for a full day of searching for wildlife and witnessing the calving season. You will see millions of newly born calves roaming around the Ndutu plains, kills by predators and other animals like lions, cheetahs, leopards among others.

You will have lunch in the wilderness of the Ndutu plains and later return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Drive to Ngorongoro crater

Wake up early for a cup of coffee and head to the park for a short early morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for breakfast, freshen up, checkout and drive to Ngorongoro Crater – the 8th wonder of the world and the largest intact caldera in the world.

Along the way you will have lunch, arrive in the park in the evening, and check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Game drives in Ngorongoro crater

After enjoying breakfast, you will descend to the crater floor for a game drive in search for some of Africa’s most sought for wildlife such as large herds of elephants, prides of lions, zebras, Masai giraffes, wildebeests, elands, gazelles among others.

You will have picnic lunch and proceed with exploring the crater floor visit Lake Magadi where you will spot huge concentrations of flamingoes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Da 7: Drive to Lake Manyara

After morning breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara national park, along the way you will enjoy some of the most dramatic views of the rift valley floor. When you arrive in the park, you will have lunch after checking into your lodge and in the evening you will go for a game drive in search for animals such as tree climbing lions, hippos, giraffes, impalas, zebras among others. You will also spot sizable flocks of pink flamingoes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Drive to Arusha

The best time to travel to Serengeti national park is between February to March when the wildebeests are in the Ndutu area – Southern Serengeti and the females are giving birth to calves.
