Detailed itinerary of 7 Days Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi and transfer to your hotel

On arrival in Kenya at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our expert safari driver guide, after a small introduction you will be transferred to your lodge in Nairobi for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Alternatively, you can go for shopping and a short walk in Nairobi city.

Day 2: Drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara with en-route visit to Masai village

After morning breakfast, you will be picked up and start on your journey to Masai Mara national reserveKenya’s premier wildlife viewing destination and one of Africa’s finest safari destinations.

The reserve is a home to a huge population of big game like lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and leopards among others. The reserve is also a host for the Great wildebeest migration.

Along the way you will have a visit to the Masai village where you will interact with the local masai people and lunch, on arrival you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full day game drives in Masai Mara following the migration

After early morning breakfast, you will meet your guide and head to the famous Mara Triangle with your packed lunch looking for the mega herds as they are usually concentrated along the Mara River, depending on the day you will continue the game drive through the reserve.

If you are lucky enough, you will see the spectacular Mara River crossing which is Africa’s greatest wildlife spectacle.

You will have lunch under a shady tree at one of the picnic sites in the reserve along the Mara River and in the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 – 6: Full day game drives in Masai Mara following the wildebeest migration

After early morning breakfast, you will head to the Mara again to take a front eats as you look for the mega herds that are usually at the Mara River, if you are luck you will witness the deadly and nerve wrecking Mara River crossing as herds attempt to cross the river to enter the Masai Mara plains from Serengeti national park. These herds face – off with the Nile crocodiles in the river and also face off with the predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs and African wild dogs at the banks of the river. The survivors stay at banks of the river for a while and other start on their journey to the plains of Mara searching for green pastures and water.

Day 7: Drive to Nairobi for your departure flight
