Detailed itinerary of 7 Days Kruger National Park Tour

Day 1: Johannesburg

On arrival at Tambo International Airport, formerly known as Johannesburg International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our Petnah Africa Safaris Expert Guide and transfer you to your hotel in Johannesburg.

Have an evening at relaxation, enjoy dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Johannesburg – Greater Kruger Area

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, set out and embark on a journey towards Kruger National Park via the magnificent Panorama Route, one of the world’s most picturesque drives. On the way, you will make stops at the dramatic Blyde River Canyon and Bourke’s Luck Potholes, and take in panoramic views of the forest-covered valley from the God’s Window viewpoint. Continue to your lodge near Kruger National Park, enjoy the rest of the day at rest, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Kruger National Park

Wake up early for breakfast, climb aboard an open jeep for a full-day safari in Kruger National Park – the most iconic game destination in South Africa and home to an extraordinary array of large mammals.

The world – famous Kruger National Park is the largest game reserve in South Africa and one of the finest wildlife sanctuaries on the planet, renowned for offering some of the best big five game viewing in the country.

During the game drive you will spot several animals including leopards, giraffes, lions, giraffes while exploring this breathtaking wilderness of savannah and scrubland. In the evening, return to your lode, where you can take some time to relax and enjoy the nocturnal sounds of the bush.

Day 4: Greater Kruger Area – Karongwe Private Game Reserve

Today, after breakfast you will travel to the Karongwe Private Game Reserve – a pristine wildlife sanctuary located in the Kruger Area. Meet with a researcher from the Endangered Wildlife Trust’s Cheetah Range Expansion Project – a program funded in part by National Geographic’s Big Cats Initiative and managed by National Geographic Explorer, Kulani Nyakane. Sit back for a lecture and learn about efforts to protect the region’s cheetahs and other carnivores. After, the researcher then joins you for a wildlife viewing excursion through the reserve.

Karongwe Private Game Reserve is rich in wildlife and its lush environment makes it one of the best locations to spot Africa’s most elusive large cat – the elusive leopard. With the majestic views over the Makhutsie river, you enjoy endless opportunity to view the elephants and well as antelopes among other animals.

Day 5: Karongwe Private Game Reserve

The whole day is dedicated to exploring Karongwe Private Game Reserve on morning and afternoon safaris with our local expert guides. Search for Africa’s famous Big Five – lion, leopard, cape buffalo, rhinos and elephants as we drive through the shrub lands of the bushveld.

Return to your lodge, relax on deck or take a walk around the grounds before enjoying a traditional South African dinner and interact with fellow travelers.

Main Destination: Karongwe Private Game Reserve 

Day 6: Karongwe Private Game Reserve – Johannesburg

This is your last day on safari in Karongwe Private Game Reserve, after breakfast you will go for your last game drive in the reserve keeping an eye out for its iconic inhabitants. Then embark on a journey back to Johannesburg with en-route lunch.

When you arrive in the city, you will be dropped off at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
