Day By Day Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali International Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by a representative from Akagera Aviation in the main terminal building with your name on a visible signboard as you disembark the aircraft. He will assist you through the customs and immigration, collect your luggage and accompany you to the Radisson Lounge for refreshments, after which you will be accompanied to the Arrivals Halls for an introduction to your transfer driver to commence your onward journey.

About Wilderness Magashi Camp

Day 1 – 4: Explore Akagera National Park

Every day at Akagera National Park offers a chance to explore some of East Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes, from expansive savannah and lush woodland to tranquil lakes and grassy rolling hills. Enjoy an up close encounter with Africa’s wildlife including the Big Five, high hippo densities and impressive crocodiles.

Enjoy two daily game drives through Akagera’s diverse terrain, keep a keen eye out for majestic lions and black rhinos, which thrive in this exclusive – use area. As the sun falls behind the horizon, head out on a night drive to witness the Akagera’s nocturnal wonders come to life.

For more intimate experience, join guided walking safaris and uncover the hidden treasures of Akagera National Park, or glide across the serene Lake Ihema on a boat safari, keeping an eye out for elephants or even a unique fishing leopard.

Day 4: Journey to Volcanoes National Park

Check out of your lodge, bid farewell to Akagera National Park and journey to Volcanoes National Park. It is a journey of 6 hours, so expect to arrive at Wilderness Bisate Lodge in afternoon – time for lunch and spend the rest of the day busking in the various amenities available at the lodge.

Day 4-7: Volcanoes National Park

As you search for the mountain gorillas, you will be enthralled by the rich mosaic of the montane ecosystems, which embrace a diverse range of evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath

Volcanoes National Park’s 200 species of colorful birds and chattering of the rare golden monkey will keep you company as you track the mountain gorilla through the forest. Spotting the gorillas may take a few hours or a full day, but the moment you find them, you will have an hour to observe their fascinating human-like behavior up close. Then return to the lodge with cherished memories and new friends, both human and gorilla alike.

Golden Monkey Trekking Experience

Set out on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure into the highland bamboo forest to track the endangered golden monkeys. Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Volcanoes National Park for a safety briefing.

Feet the excitement build as you venture into the forest, keeping your eyes peeled for the infamous flashes of gold zipping through the trees above you. These social creatures live in troops (groups), navigating the foliage with incredible agility. The trek, lasting two to four hours, culminates in a magical hour spent observing the monkeys up close. Watch in awe as they frolic, feed on bamboo leaves, and carry their young, seemingly oblivious to your presence.

After this unforgettable primate encounter, trek back to base where your driver-guide will be ready to take you back to your lodge for next adventure. Perfect for primate lovers, this trek is also an ideal precursor to mountain gorilla trekking, helping you acclimate to the altitude and terrain.

The Sanctuary Bisate Wellness Centre

The centre is a dedicated wellness centre, designed to offer a grounding space where you can unwind between activities. Relax in the heated, salt-water indoor lap pool. Spend time in the steam room. Or refresh in the ice bath. Cocoon-like meditation pods offer moments of solitude and stillness, while a fully equipped gym and yoga area is on hand for practicing at your own pace. Day 7: Departure

Today is the last day of your 7 Days Exclusive Rwanda Holiday, you will be dropped off at Kigali International Airport. Our representative will assist you will check-in and passport control.
