Detailed itinerary of 6 Days Zanzibar Romantic Honeymoon

Day 1: Stone Town – Zanzibar Island

On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be received by our guide and transfer you to your beachfront hotel in the stone Town, you will get settled in, freshen up and then head for a sunset cruise which is a perfect way to start your romantic getaway. The sunset cruise in done in a classical Arabian dhow, as you sail along the fringes of the island you will enjoy close-up views of the Zanzibar City as the sun dips below the horizon.

As you drive through the Stone Town, you will see historical Stone building of the old quarter bathed in glorious colors, be entertained by fascinating Swahili stories about the Island and its captivating history.  After the sunset, you will head back to your hotel where you will spend a romantic evening or dine in one of the restaurants in the Stone Town.

Day 2: Stone Town – Zanzibar Island

You will start your day with a cup of fresh coffee and breakfast at the beachfront hotel, then head to Stone Town for a walking tour visiting some of the incredible sites in the hotel such as Arab Fort – the oldest building on Zanzibar Island built after the Portuguese were expelled from the island in 1699. The building has had a variety of uses from a garrison and a prison to a railway terminal, currently the house houses the headquarters of the Zanzibar International film festival.

You will also visit the slave market where the city’s brutal history is unraveled, you will see where the East African slave trade flourished – a grim reminder of the past times, the Sultan’s Palace which is now a museum that was built in the 19th century for the sultan and his family, after the 1964 revolution, the house became a government building.

 You will enjoy some buying some stuff in the bustling market and many gift shops stocked with souvenirs and handicrafts, wander down winding alleys admiring the ornately carved and studded doors, visit mosques and the 2 cathedrals which are the testament to Zanzibar’s diverse and colorful history.

After the walk, you will return to your hotel and spend in the rest of the day enjoying a sundowners on the roof terrace, take a dip in the pool or head out for dinner. For a culinary adventure, you can visit the nearby Forodhani market in Forodhani Gardens, the seaside garden hosts a bustling evening market with a feast of local and cosmopolitan foods ranging from seafood, falafels, and crepes to samosas and sugar cane juice. Alternatively, you can eat from one of the many charming restaurants of the Stone Town  or dine at the hotel restaurant overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Day 3: Spice Tour & Beach Resort – Zanzibar Island

After breakfast, you will be collected from the hotel by your guide and travel to the country side of Zanzibar for a guided spice tour in the Spice plantations, spices where introduced to the island in the 19th century by the Omani Arabs and they play an important roles in the Zanzibar culture and economy, the locals use spices for many culinary and medicinal uses. Spices are also used to produces dyes and hennas for decorating festivals and weddings.

Some of the spices you will see during the Spice tour include cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, nutmeg and turmeric root growing in the plantations and on the tour you will see why the island is known as the Spice Island. You will taste some of the unusual fruits that are grown in these plantations such as jackfruit, custard apple, rambutan, carambola. Henna bush, lipstick tree and lemongrass.

After the city tour, you will have lunch and then head to the northeastern shores of Zanzibar where you will stay for the next few days, after checking into your hotel. You will spend time relaxing on your own little terrace with views of the tropical gardens, take a dip in the swimming pool, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Mnemba Atoll & Muyuni Beach Sailing Trip – Zanzibar Island

On this day, you will enjoy a dhow ocean adventure to the famous Mnemba Atoll, after breakfast, you will sail along the northeast coast of Zanzibar Island to the unique Marine Conservation Area with sightings of dolphins and other marine animals.

Mnemba Atoll is a world class snorkeling site with one coral garden and a steep reef that drops off into the depths of the Indian Ocean, before sailing to the idyllic Muyuni Beach you will explore the wonders of the Mnemba Atoll, enjoy a fresh seafood barbecue in the shade of the rustic beach banda and lie in a hammock amongst the palms.

You will also laze in the sunshine and sook up the tropical paradise of Muyuni Beach with beautiful views of the Private Mnemba Island, look out for locals working in the seaweed fields at low tide of the shores. Seaweed farming is an important industry with the algae exported internationally as a food delicacy.

Later you will board a traditional dhow and sail back to Nungwi Beach, then transfer back south to the beach resort for a laid back evening.

Day 5: Beach Resort – Zanzibar Island

You will the day relaxing t the stunning beaches in and around Pwani Mchangani , the resort offers optional watersports and tours such as diving, windsurfing, sailing and kayaking. You can also book a boat cruise or a dolphin tour (at your own expnse), if you are an energetic individual, the resort offers a fully – equipped fitness center, beach volleyball, billiards and table tennis. You can pamper yourself with a visit to the spa or just soak up the sunshine, swim in the pool, take a walk or read a book.  In the evening, you will have a sundowner experience, followed by an intimate dinner.

Day 6: Departure

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and transfers you back to the airport for your onwards flights.
