Detailed itinerary of 6 Days Team Building Tour to Queen Elizabeth and Kibale Forest national park

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will be picked from your offices or preferred location in Kampala by the UWA Bus and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, western Uganda on a drive of about 6-7 hours, along the way you will have a stopover at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for an opportunity to stand in 2 hemispheres (north and west) and at the Royal Drum Maker’s village to witness the way drums are made locally.

You will have another stopover in Mbarara for lunch and proceed to the park arriving in late afternoon, on arrival you will enter the park for a short game drive on which you will enjoy see animals such as elephants, cape buffaloes, antelopes among others. In the evening you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight after checking in.

Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

You will wake up early for breakfast and transfer to the park for early morning game drive, early hours of the morning are great for spotting large concentration of animals such as leopards, lions, bush bucks, cape buffaloes, waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda kobs and predators returning from hunting.

After the mid-blowing activity, you will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The channel is an amazing feature – a natural water channel connecting Lake George and Lake Edward, as you will sail on the water of the channel you will watch concentration of giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles and many bird species such as herons, cormorants, crested cranes among others on the shores of the channel.  Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to the park for the last game drive exploring the park more and seeing animals you were not able to see on the previous game drive.  You will return to the lodge for lunch, then check out and transfer to Kibale Forest national park – a primate capital, you will drive through Fort Portal and enjoy impressive sights of Rwenzori Mountains.

Arrive in the park in the late afternoon, check into your lodge and rest. You will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and rest at the lodge

You will wake up early for breakfast and head to Kibale Forest for a chimpanzee tracking experience, you will join other trackers at the park’s headquarters for briefing at 08:00 am  where you will be taken through the rules and regulations to follow during the experience. You will set off into the forests of Kibale looking for chimpanzee, expect to see other primates such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and many birds on tree branches.

When you locate the chimpanzee you will stay for one hour in their presence while taking pictures and witnessing their behavior and lifestyle, you are allowed to take pictures as long as your flashlight is off (this is because it irritates the chimpanzees).

After the experience you will trek back to the park’s headquarters then back to your lodge for lunch. You will spend the afternoon resting at the lodge reading a book or taking a swim if your accommodation has a swimming pool.   Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Forest walk and Bigodi swamp walk  

You will have leisurely breakfast and transfer to Kibale Forests for a forest walk experience, you will gather at the park’s headquarters for briefing about what to expect and how to behave. This activity is facilitated by several trails running through the jungles of Kibale, while in the forests you will spot primates such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and many birds such as Great Blue Turacos, Tropical Boubou, and slender – billed weaver among others.

Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will head to the Bigodi Swamp for a walk, this swamp is a great site for spotting various species of birds including Great blue Turacco, little Bulbul, Rwenzori Turaco and the Narina Trogon, among others. You will also enjoy the nature and cool breeze, take many pictures as possible and in the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Return to Entebbe via Kampala

After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and transfer back to Kampala where you will be dropped off either at your offices or any preferred location.
