Day 1: Arrive in Madikwe

On arrival at Johannesburg or Tambo International Airport, you will met a Petnah Africa Tours representative and embark on a journey to Madikwe Private Game Reserve, located on the edge of the Kahalari in South Africa’s North-West Province.

Madikwe Private Game Reserve is considered one of the prime safari destinations in South Africa due to its long list of resident animals and its malaria-free setting. The reserve is currently the fifth largest game reserve in the country, home to rich biodiversity including the Big Five.

When you reach the reserve, you will check in at your luxurious Madikwe Safari Lodge, situated at the heart of the reserve where you will spend 3 nights. In the afternoon you will go for game drives conducted in open game viewing vehicles and led by profession, experienced rangers.

Note: Children of all ages are very welcome at Madikwe Safari Lodge, also there are special activities designed to keep them active and teach them about nature and the wild.

Spend your days exploring Madikwe Private Game Reserve on thrilling game drives conducted in open safari vehicles accompanied by experienced guides.

Madikwe region is dominated by grassland and open woodland environments bordered by rugged mountain ranges and studded with rocky hills. The reserve is home to Africa’s famous Big 5 as well as cheetah, wild dog, spotted hyena, giraffe, hippo, zebra and many species of antelope and other herbivores. Over 300 bird species are recorded in Madikwe and there is an intriguing blend of familiar savannah animals and more unusual desert specialists.

After game drives, unwind in the outdoor sitting area at your lodge, set on an expansive deck with lovely views over the reserve and complete with comfortable cushions and bean bags.

Day 4-5: Cape Town
