This 5 days Ndutu Migration Calving Season Safari is designed to offer a great Migration safari focused on the exhilarating calving season in Serengeti national park, the best places to witness the calving is in the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu areas in Tanzania in the months of January, February and March.
During this safari you will witness thousands of wildebeests spread across the plains grazing on the rich short grass plains, also the predator action is at its peak. Predators like cheetahs, lions, hyenas and leopards are attracted to area by the presence of the newly born wildebeest calves which are relatively weak. You will have a good chance to see adrenalin packed kills.

DETAILED ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS OF 5 DAYS NDUTU MIGRATION CALVING SEASON SAFARI
Day 1: Arusha – Serengeti South – Ndutu Area
To start your Great Migration safari, your driver guide of Petnah Africa Tours & Travel will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and drive to the Ndutu Area. Upon arrival you will have lunch after checking in at your lodge and proceed to a game drive.
Lake Ndutu Area is situated in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area which is part of the Southern Serengeti Eco-system, Lake Ndutu found in the area is an alkaline lake just like other rift lakes. However its waters are still drinkable and a lot of animals in the area are seen congregating around the lake drinking water. Lake Ndutu Area has the majority of the wildebeest migration from December to April, there are also other animals such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, rhinos and many birds which you will see during the game drive. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Ndutu Area
You will start your with a delicious morning breakfast and head for a game drive in Ndutu Area, you will return to your camp for lunch and go for another game drive in the Seronera.
During the game drive in the wilderness of the Ndutu Area you will witness wildebeest in their calving season and watch many wildebeest calves being born in a period of 3 months. You will also watch other animals such as antelope, Giraffe, Elephant, Hyena, Lion, cheetah, leopards, serval, Africa wild cat, caracal among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Ndutu – Seronera
Early in the morning, you will have a hot air balloon safari offering you aerial view of the plains of the area and is a perfect of watching the large herds of columns from the above. After the experience you will have champagne breakfast then depart for Seronera area with en-route game drive.
The Seronera Area is well known for its healthy numbers of resident wildlife including the big Five “lions, leopards, buffaloes, rhinos and elephants”. The area is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa and there are more than 3,000 lions living in the ecosystem and is because of the abundance of prey species.

Day 4: Serengeti – Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will go for en-route game drive in Seronera area and in the afternoon you will proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area another amazing wildlife destination in Tanzania.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area hosts the beautiful Ngorongoro crater – the world’s largest intact caldera and an 8th wonder, the crater is a home to a huge population of wildlife including elephants, elands, hartebeests, endangered rhinos, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos among others.
On arrival, you will descend to the crater floor for a game drive spotting number animals and large concentration of flamingoes on the shores of Lake Magadi. Head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Departure
After breakfast, you will drive back to Arusha with a drop off at the airport to catch your flight back home or to your next destination.
