Our 3 Days Masai Mara Wildebeest Migration Safari is a short Great wildebeest safari ideal for travelers on a safari to Kenya with little time but still wish to witness the Great Migration on this annual journey in the Mara ecosystem in search for water and green pastures.

Masai Mara national reserve is one of the best wildlife destinations in the world known for a huge concertation of wildlife including the big Five “lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, rhinos and elephants”.

This safari offers you an opportunity to witness the Wildebeest Migration which takes place in the months of July to October and if you are lucky, you will watch the Mara River Crossing as the herds attempt and cross the deadly river filled with crocodiles and predators lining on the banks waiting for the survivors.

DETAILED ITINERARY OF 3 DAYS MASAI MARA WILDEBEEST MIGRATION SAFARI

Day 1: Nairobi city – Masai Mara

Upon arrival in Nairobi at Jomo Kenyatta International airport or after breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by your safari driver guide – a representative of Petnah Africa Tour and Travel. He will give you a short briefing about the safari and what to expect, then embark on a journey to Masai Mara national reserve – the most popular safari destination in Kenya.

Along the journey of 5-6 hours, you have a stopover at the rift valley view point for amazing views of escarpments, you will have another stopover in Narok town for an interaction with the local people and proceed to the reserve arriving in the afternoon.

Enjoy your lunch after checking in, then head to the Mara plains for a game drive seeing many animals such as wildebeests, lions, giraffes, elands, gazelles, leopards, bushbucks, warthogs among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: full day game drive following the migration

After breakfast, you will head to reserve for a full game drive following the migration. You will head to the Mara River site where the wildebeests cross over the Mara River into Mara plains. You will watch the wildebeests as they struggle with the deadly crocodiles and also face off with the predators such as lions, leopards and others.

The survivors will cross into the plains Masai Mara and you can see them in large columns of the wildebeest across of the Masai plains. You will have picnic lunch and continue on a game drive exploring more. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: morning game drive and departure

After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and transfer back to Nairobi, along the way you will have lunch and will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport for your onward flight back home.
