This 3 day Uganda Gorilla safari, will take you for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which covers an area of 321 sq km and is among the oldest forests lasting over 25,000 years. You will be able to trek one of the 12 habituated mountain gorilla groups. Besides the Gorillas, you will also have an opportunity to see other primates such as the red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others. This forest is also home to 120 mammals, 51 reptiles, 310 butterfly species, 27 species of frogs, geckos, chameleons, 163 tree species, 104 fern species, 1000 flowering plants, as well as over 350 species of birds such as the hornbills and the Turacos! The trekking takes around 8 hours as the gorillas are not easy to spot.
Note: Depending on availability of gorilla permits at the time of confirmation, you may trek gorillas in Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga or Nkuringo.
DAY 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Our driver/guide will pick you from the hotel or area of residence to commence your amazing journey; an 8-9 hours drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in south western Uganda. Quite a long drive but worth it because you get to enjoy the countryside scenery, some of the most beautiful nature’s scenery all the way to the Virunga . Keep your cameras close by and our driver will definitely stop or slow down for you to capture the beautiful scenery and wild game.
You will have an en route stopover at the Equator for photography before continuing to Mbarara town for lunch after which you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi National Park for an overnight stay in preparation for the next day.

DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and join members for a briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half to three quarters of the day.
The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the headquarter.
This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
Day 3: Transfer to Kampala
After an early breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and transfer back to Kampala passing through rolling hills with terraces and also have a great time viewing the lush vegetation of the different areas you will go through. Have lunch in Mbarara and another stop will be at Mbambire drum makers point. You can opt to purchase lots of African souvenirs here, continue to Kampala arriving late afternoon. The guide will drop you off to the hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
