Detailed itinerary of 10 days Uganda Wildlife, Chimpanzee and Gorilla Trekking Safari
Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe International Airport to Kampala
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our safari guide and after a short briefing you will be driven to Kampala – the capital city of Uganda where you will be dropped off at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
After breakfast, you will be picked up by your safari guide and transfer to Murchison Falls National park driving northwest of Kampala. You will pass the famous Luwero Triangle and visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will have a walk and see the rhinos in their nature habitat. Have a lunch stopover in Masindi and proceed to Murchison falls – top of the falls where you will enjoy great views of falls as they force their way through the narrow gorge of 7 meters, you will enjoy the thundering sounds of the water. Drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Boat Ride
Wake up early and head to the northern banks of River Nile for early morning game drive offering you a great chance of spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, hartebeests and several bird species. Return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you will go for a boat ride to the bottom of the falls, you get magnificent of the falls as they squeeze through the falls and many animals such as elephants along the banks of the river. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Enjoy breakfast, meet your driver and transfer to Kibale national park, along the way you will view local homesteads, the green countryside and local farms along the Albertine Rift Escarpment. The journey takes approximately 7-8 hours of drive with en-route lunch, arrive in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking and visiting the Bigodi Swamp
Have early breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking, with armed guides and rangers you will enter the jungle in search for chimpanzees. The rangers and guides know where to find the chimpanzees and when you find them easily, you will spend one hour with them watching them groom each other, pick fruits and play on tree branches. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon you will head to Bigodi Swamp for a nature walk, you will watch several bird species and primates such as olive baboons, white and black colobus monkeys among others.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Checkout after breakfast and depart for Queen Elizabeth national park, you will pass through the Crater Lake area, enjoy views of the beautiful landscape and rolling hills.
Have lunch at your lodge upon arrival and in the afternoon you will go for a game viewing drive searching and spotting several animals including lions, leopards, elephants, African wild dogs, elands among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise
Have a cup of coffee and head to the park for a game drive, morning hours are perfect time for seeing predators such as lions, leopards and African wild dogs as they return to their dens after a night of hunting. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for late breakfast and rest for a while as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, you will head to Kazinga Channel for a boat ride. During the cruise you will spot a lot of animals like hippos, cape buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, elephants as they drink water and many birds. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park
Enjoy breakfast and depart for Bwindi impenetrable national park with a game drive through the Ishasha sector where you will spot the tree climbing lions and antelopes. Along the way you will have lunch, when you arrive in Bwindi you will go on a cultural visit to the Batwa pygmy people who once lived in the forest for a deeper insight into their daily life and how they co-existed with gorillas in the forest. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Day 9: Gorilla Trekking
Have early breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about how to conduct yourself while in the presence of mountain gorillas and the rules to follow, you will be group into 8 people and then head into the jungle looking for a gorilla family assigned to you. The trek takes approximately 4-8 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla family you are trekking and when you find them you spend 1 hour in their presence watching them play with each other, mothers taking care of their young ones and take amazing pictures and videos.
Note: flash photography is not allowed as it irritates the gorillas.
You will then return to the park’s headquarters to collect your certificates, meet your guide and transfer back to lodge for an evening of rest. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala
Have early breakfast, meet your guide and depart for Kampala, long the way you will have en-route lunch in Mbarara town and then proceed to Kampala, you will have another stopover at the equator for pictures of the equator monument. Upon arrival in Kampala, you will be drop off either at the hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.
